I can still hear the crowd cheering for me… the referee counting the pin, and then raising my hand in victory. This wasn’t my plan. I never imagined I’d be on Earth, and claim my place in professional wrestling… but there I was. It felt so rewarding. Normally, I would feel good about helping someone and having them thank me for protecting them and their planet. This, however… this was all for me. I challenged a fearsome competitor, and defeated him. The glory, the reward, the accomplishment was all for me. The fans seemed fond of me as well, thankfully. Everything about that night was absolutely surreal, and it’s only the beginning.
At least I can actually see N~8 coming now. It’s still tricky getting used to the darker lighting of this bunker, but we’ve made due, at least. Unfortunately, we still haven’t acquired our ship from the authorities, so we’ve had to be relegated to using Earth parts to construct and decorate the area. A lot of the equipment is old and dingy.
N~8: They can always come back with a vengeance. Don’t let their setbacks cause you to underestimate them.
L~7: Of course. I have to make sure I stay ahead of the game. This is a world I'm only familiar with from the outside. I've always been a skilled fighter. Wrestling has been something I've paid attention to for quite some time. It just isn't until now that I've melded the two together and started a whole new adventure.
N~8: There's a lot of money on the line if you win this tournament. We could take advantage of that.
L~7: I'm not in this for the money. It isn't useful outside of this planet anyway. I'll most likely donate it to a charity of some sort. I just want to be the best. I want to win, and I want the people to see what I'm capable of.
N~8 scoffs at me, for some reason, and rolls her eyes as well.
L~7: I suppose, but that just isn't what I'm focused on. I want to defeat my competition and be the number one wrestler on the roster. The prize is simply a bonus to me.
N~8: Suit yourself. I know exactly what I would want to do with that money. Anyway, I’m gonna go see what M~9 is doing.
L~7: You do that. I need to find out how the others are doing.

There’s a stark difference between the two bunkers. It’s very clear that Auron’s medical team has been settled here for a long time. I wonder why that is. Speaking of Auron, I see no sign of him, for some reason. However, it’s hard to miss his colleague, Gideon. From a stereotypical point of view, he would be the more obvious choice in the tournament. Between his long hair, strong build, and stoic expression, he has a very intimidating demeanor.
Gideon: Oh, it’s you. Well, your timing isn’t the best. He’s currently with one of your friends. I’m sorry, but they’re in critical condition.
L~7: Goodness. Which one?
Gideon: The aquatic one. Err.. they have that odd translucent skin. I never quite got their name. Auron has been keeping a close eye on them.
L~7: Salone. Of course. I’m sure Auron is having a field day with them and their unusual biology. Can I see them?
Gideon: Not right now, sorry. Auron’s trying to find out exactly what’s wrong and how to fix it. No visitors until notice. I actually have to go, so I can look into the other two and make sure they’re. I’m glad at least you three are okay. All of you are nothing like what we’ve dealt with before, so you have to bear with us.
L~7: I understand. Please, take all the time you need to help make sure they’re all okay. Positive vibes, always.
He walks into the hall, putting his mask and gloves on in the process. Another colleague comes by, and they have a chat for a minute. They look somewhat similar, especially the tan skin and long hair. This one is slimmer and shorter, however, and has a full beard, instead of mutton chops. They finish talking, and the doctor heads this way, taking his mask off.
Definitely not the news I wanted to hear.
He smirks and gives a light chuckle.
L~7: Yes, COVID-19. It’s hard to miss.
Vasillis: Yes, I figured as much. We’ve taken a deep dive on you and your friends’ biology, the two that are the same species as you. It seems as if your kind--
L~7: Quasonics.
Vasillis: Yes… you seem to be immune to the virus, as well as a lot of other diseases here on Earth. Just to be safe, I still recommend wearing a mask. Even if you’re immune, it sets a good example and doesn’t raise any question marks. We have enough of those at it is.
L~7: I’ll make sure to do that. No worries.
Vasillis: I appreciate that. We’ll make sure to notify you about any changes.
L~7: Thank you.
He nods and takes his leave. It’s an uneasy feeling, not knowing if my comrades will be okay. Dealing with that makes it difficult to focus on the Black Pyramid tournament. Maybe N~8 is right. That prize could be important. Not for myself, but to make sure my crew have the funds they need to make it out of this situation. I never expected to be in this type of situation. Stranded on Earth, with no clue if or when we’ll be able to get back into our normal lives. In a sense, Earthlings are dealing with a similar situation, considering this pandemic they’re under. I don’t mind wearing a mask to help them feel safe, but I do mind not being able to travel the way I need to.
