Punished Von Brandt, Church, and 3 more like this
Post by L. A. Blackwater on Sept 17, 2021 8:13:51 GMT -6
Blackwater pushed through the thick, humid smog of the El Salvador night as he wandered down an old dirt track. The path was dimly lit by the moonlight as The Soldier of Fortune staggered his way back to the shack he’d taken temporary residence in.
This was not his first visit to El Salvador; the mercenary had made several trips to the Central American country over the last few years, each for different jobs. The last ended poorly, bridges were burned and Blackwater had left vowing never to return.
Black Pyramid Wrestling’s sudden decision to visit the capital of this country had truly messed up his plans.
Blackwater knew if he’d stayed in San Salvador itself, that his former employer would come looking for him. They’d probably die in the process, but it wasn’t a chance he was willing to take. So he opted to stay out in the countryside surrounding the large city, only travelling into San Salvador to defend his right to face Church, then get the hell out of the shithole.
As he gazed into the darkness, he reminisced about the argument he had with April before leaving. Please don’t leave me, she had begged him. She was still suffering both mentally and physically from her abduction by the man yet to be identified by Blackwater. Trust me darlin’, I don’t want to go, but I don’t have a choice.
He would much rather have stayed in the burning city of Las Vegas in order to protect his love, but he knew that the men running Black Pyramid were dangerous; Church was still missing. Blackwater had paid a visit to Aria Casino before departing for El Salvador in hope that Church had returned, but he still had not. He did meet Amanda Porter though, Church’s loyal companion / on-off lover / former employee, and together they had a drink. Blackwater trusted Church, and knew that he trusted Amanda with his life therefore he knew she was someone he could depend on. Amanda reassured Blackwater that she’d watch over April whilst he was out of town and that she’d enlist Luther King to act as her personal protection. At least she is safe at home.
The Soldier of Fortune rubbed his eye as he swayed from left to right, he had drunk too much. He never intended to venture out of his temporary residence, but being isolated, away from April was proving harder than he thought it would be. I really do love her.
He’d noticed a small run-down bar a couple of miles away from his residence as he drove in, figured he would walk through the backwoods, staying off the main road. He’d also try and stay on the down-low in the bar. What the fuck was I thinking?
He was the only white person there, and he had one eye, he stuck out like a saw thumb. But he’d caused no trouble, he simply brought a bottle of Jack and quietly sat in the corner whilst he drank away his worries as he reflected upon recent events.
He caught his foot on a tree root and stumbled, inverting his wrist as he fell to the ground.
“FOR FUCK SAKE!” he screamed, the sounds of wildlife can be heard departing the area, scared away by the drunk Englishman’s outburst. Whilst laying on the ground, he stared up at the sky. He revelled in the beauty of the night’s sky as the clouds shifted, fully revealing the moon.
It looks big tonight, he thought as he continued staring at it, mesmerised by its beauty. Whilst still laying down, he reached into the back of his trousers, unholstering his trusted Browning 9mm pistol and aimed it at the moon.
“Com’ on ya son of a bitch, COME AND TAKE IT FROM ME!!”
He pulled back the hammer of the gun, but soon his arm grew tired, swaying before dropping back down to his side as he began to laugh by himself. He then slowly rolled to his side before trying to push himself back to a vertical base, limited by his newly sprained wrist.
Once upright, he continued to stagger along the isolated path, his firearm still in his hand.
I wanted to leave. He had decided to leave Black Pyramid following the end of the tournament. Despite finishing strongly in his block; ultimately, he finished third following defeat in his first two matches. But she gave me hope.
He had met April at a bar inside the Aria Casino before Blackwater faced Tuxedo Max, and it was almost love at first sight. Soon she was both in his bed, and his heart. He’d slept with many women over the years, yet she was different. She saw Blackwater for the man, for Lucas, and not as the mercenary he had been for years previously. She didn’t judge him for his sins, there were many of them. She was intrigued by his scars, they made him the man he was. April loved him as she knew he’d protect her, and he would, even if it cost him his life.
Following the conclusion of the tournament, Blackwater was ready to pack in the life he had to start a new one with April. I finally had a reason to live.
But just as he was ready to walk away, the kidnapping happened, and he was forced to fight for the number one contendership. But he wasn’t fighting for the right to face Church, no he needed the prize money to free his love.
He achieved this, along with the right to face the BPW Champion, yet to that point his only concern was April.
As Blackwater staggered to the end of the path, he caught sight of the shack… and noticed the front door was open.
He almost instantaneously sobered up and raised his firearm as he approached his residence, aiming down the gun sight as he stopped still at the side of the door. Peering around the corner, he attempted to covertly spot where the enemies were situated, but he failed.
He proceeded to enter the shack, his gun still raised. Scanning from left to right, he failed to spot anyone, yet he could hear something coming from the bedroom. He sneaked up to the door which had been left ajar. Before entering the room he took a final deep breath to calm his nerves and to gather his focus. Here goes nothing April.
He kicked the door open, immediately entering the room ready for a firefight. But he soon discovered the intruder, the thief in the night was merely a stray dog who had entered the shack and was laying on Blackwater's bed eating the leftover meal that had been situated on the bedside table.
Blackwater laughed hysterically to himself, his drunken form returning as the adrenaline spike quickly faded away. A bloody dog!?!?
He turned on the safety of his firearm before he opened the draw of the bedside table, placing it inside and closing it shut. He then sat next to the dog as he began stroking its matted fur, soon it continued eating Blackwater’s leftovers.

“You’re ok, boy,” Blackwater said as he continued to stroke the dog’s fur.
“Serves me right for leaving my leftovers at my bedside, I must have not locked that door properly, fuckin’ shithole. At least you’re enjoying it boy, I didn’t, I hated it, and I hate being here away from my love”.
The dog stopped eating and looked up at Blackwater with a sideways glance.
“My love… April, she’s back home waiting for me. If it wasn’t for her I’d be long gone from Black Pyramid, from this continent probably. I think I’d go stay in the Cotswolds for a bit, but I’m here in this godforsaken place once again, somewhere I vowed to never return”.
He laughed to himself, “I’ve been forced to come here and defend what is rightfully mine, what is rightfully ours. Sure I would have walked away from this, but April loves the man I’ve become because of this, and for that, I need to see it through. The number one contendership was the consolation prize for winning back my love, and now I’ve had time to reflect on it, I want to be champion, just to show my love that I am a changed man”.
“So this thief in the night, Mundo Kindo - he can fuck off if he thinks he’s gonna come and steal what’s mine. Church and myself are destined to fight each other for the belt, and regardless of the result, we’ll then have a shot of Jack together in the Aria”.
“There ain’t no room for Mundo at that table so he can jog on…”
The dog suddenly barked at Blackwater, causing the Soldier of Fortune to jump back. The dog then proceeded to get up and run out of the shack.
“Fine, fuck you…”
My god, I’m so wasted. Blackwater slumped to his side as he fell onto the bed.
“You just go…”
Maybe he’s gonna go find Church, where is he? Oh, I miss you, April…
And just like that Blackwater passed out, dead to the world.
